1. Bake cookies and muffins

If you want to bake a few cookies for a snack, why heat up a large, conventional oven when the toaster oven does the job just right? Make sure your toaster oven is large enough to accommodate a cookie sheep and use slice-and-bake refrigerated cookie dough to save more time. If you have a countertop toaster oven, you can also bake cookies. Even if you own a space-saver toaster oven, you can still use the included tray to bake a few cookies.

2. Cook a quick snack

The toaster oven can be used to make fish sticks, French fries, potato skins, nachos, mozzarella sticks and other appetizers. Of course, a microwave can also perform these tasks, but it will make frozen foods soggy and destroy the nutrients found in your ingredients. With a stainless-steel toaster oven, you’ll get a nice flavor and crispy edges. If you have a small toaster oven, try a mini pizza recipe with English muffins, cheese, peperoni, ham and sauce.

3. Toast and cheese sandwiches

The toaster oven allows you to make one of the basic snacks: toast. Moreover, you can add butter or other toppings directly to the bread while it’s cooking. Another great idea is to make open-face cheese sandwiches with a bit of garlic powder and salt.

4. Dinner

Although it may come as a surprise, you can use the toaster oven to cook casseroles and main dishes without heating up the entire house. For a nice, easy dinner, roast some vegetables and chicken breasts on the baking pan, and some rolls for a quick side dish. Add a bit of lemon pepper for a more intense flavor.

Other uses:

  • Cook burritos or quesadillas with cheese on top;
  • Warm plates before serving and reheat leftovers;
  • Toast nuts;
  • Defrost frozen ingredients;
  • Roast small batches of meat;
  • Bake potatoes;
  • Cook side dishes while the main oven is occupied;
  • Broil food at counter-height with a see-through window.
